Winter is the time to decorate your Christmas tree, your home, and your house. The Netherlands is perfect to shop for Christmas decorations for your home. We found several places where you can not only shop but also enjoy the place itself. Some of these shopping places look like themeparks – so huge and so magical they are! Below is my personal collection of Christmas shopping places to visit from Amsterdam around the Netherlands (with useful information). Each place can be easily found in Google maps. Enjoy!
All photos are mine.

Intratuin Duiven
It has the largest Christmas show in Europe. Here you can spend hours wandering through the Christmas installations of characters from fairytales. There are 2 floors full of colorful designs, toys, and decor connected by the wonder-escalator. This special escalator brings you through a Christmas story. Gelderland province.
ℹ️ Entrance, parking: free.
✔️Possibility of snacks
✔️Millons of decor variations
🔹Recommendations: visit not during weekends to avoid crowds and to secure your parking spot.
🔹Do not be in a hurry. This place is huge, so reserve the whole day for this trip.
Global Garden Christmas show in Zwaanshoek
You will wander in front of a moving village, next to well-known fairytale characters, or near one of the illuminated animals and houses. It is a big feast of colours, styles, and sounds. The North Holland province.

Osdorp Tuincentrum Kerstshow
If you have no time or car to travel far to visit the previously mentioned places, go to Osdorp Garden Center. It is not far from Amsterdam, which makes it easier to reach by public transport. Here you will find the latest Christmas and interior trends. Very beautiful and full of Christmas spirit. The North Holland province.

Intratuin Amsterdam – next to the Frankendael Park
If you are totally lazy, this is the place for you1 I am an often guest here for plants and cat-related stuff. And I bring here every year a new friend for the Christmas show. I love this place because it is small, compact, and the closest to my home. North Holland province.
ℹ️ Entrance, parking: free
✔️Easily reached by public transport.

Christmas Caves in Valkenburg
There is a magic part of the Netherlands, and it is called Limburg. Limburg has many beautiful places to visit, and Valkenburg is one of them… especially around December. The location is famous for its marl (mergel) – yellow easily breakable material that Dutch used to mine from under the ground. Now the underground is full of labyrinths – caves. The caves are decorated into Christmas markets each winter. The Limburg province.
ℹ️ Entrance: buy tickets online
✔️There are several caves, visit Gemeentegrot (municipal cave) – the biggest.
✔️ Come as early as possible in the morning to secure your parking place in the city
